VisitSuffolk.com Scoops Top Award For Best Tourist Board Website

Visit Suffolk

Suffolk's official tourism body, Visit Suffolk, has picked up a national award for its website which re-launched earlier this year, and includes an innovative interactive map, www.takemetosuffolk.com

The TravelMole Awards, announced on 8th October at an exclusive ceremony in London's West End, saw the cream of the country's travel industry representatives competing for a series of awards. Visit Suffolk was nominated, alongside Welcome to Yorkshire and Visit Bath, for the 'best tourist board website'.

Amanda Bond, brand manager for Visit Suffolk, collected the award and said: “It's fantastic to achieve national recognition for Visit Suffolk's creative approach to marketing the county and the many wonderful things that it has to offer tourists. We are proud to be paving the way in destination marketing by demonstrating how to meet consumer and business expectations through innovation.”

Visit Suffolk worked alongside Spring, the Southwold-based communications design agency, in order to shape the website's impressive new look and functionality. The aim of the website is to make the search for Suffolk-specific things to do and places to stay an enjoyable experience in itself, as well as offering up a host of relevant destinations. Tourism business partners from across the county have the opportunity to highlight their own offering on VisitSuffolk.com, and the website is constantly refreshed with new content so that every visitor has a unique online experience.

As of 6th October, TakemetoSuffolk.com has a new look to coincide with Visit Suffolk's autumn campaign #TheOtherSide, which highlights different aspects of the county's tourist offering themed around local folklore and legend. 20 short films have been produced and can be viewed via the interactive map as well as on YouTube and Facebook to generate even more reasons for tourists to come to Suffolk.
