VisitEngland is pleased to share the results of its Travel Article of the Year 2018 award. The winner was announced at the annual Awards for Excellence ceremony on St George's Day (Monday 23 April 2018).
WINNER: Richard Mellor, The Guardian – Party in the Sea – Between the Isles of Scilly

FINALIST: Emily Luxton, Emily Luxton – A Night at Spitbank Fort Hotel in Portsmouth
FINALIST: Norman Miller, Flight Time – Putting the Art in Manchester
The Travel Article of the Year award is a way of thanking the media for their support and recognising their important contribution in encouraging and shaping domestic tourism. Entry criteria was the submission of an article, video, TV or radio feature published or broadcast in UK media in 2017 which inspires domestic travel in England.
The judging panel whittled down over 100 submissions of exceptional quality that truly showcase the breadth and diversity of world-class travel experiences in England. Congratulations to the three award winners.
WINNER'S PRIZE: In 2018 Liverpool is marking 10 years since it was European Capital of Culture with a year-long programme of cultural events. It is therefore fitting that Liverpool has provided a prize for the winner of a two-night stay at Hope Street Hotel, together with attraction passes courtesy of Marketing Liverpool.
