VisitDenmark will attend IMM 2020 and look forward to talking with British media about the many experiences awaiting across Denmark. Exciting destinations this year include the capital of Copenhagen, vibrant second city Aarhus, new architectural hub Vejle, family holiday heaven LEGOLAND Billund Resort, Denmark's scenic Northernmost region North Jutland as well as historic areas of Zealand and idyllic seaside towns in Jutland. Gastronomy is a major focus for VisitDenmark in 2020, so we will be happy to tell you all about wine on West Zealand, oysters in Jutland, Denmark's love for organic produce and other interesting food stories.
Copenhagen is on track to become the world's first carbon neutral capital in 2025 with last year's opening of combined waste-to-energy plant and ski slope CopenHill in the upcoming neighbourhood of Refshaleøen and the large investments in public transport with new metro lines opening both last year and this year making the city's many neighbourhoods more accessible than ever.
New experiences are plentiful outside the capital as well with Europe's first LEGO Movie World opening in Billund, the 100th anniversary of the reunion between Denmark and South Jutland, museum openings spanning from impressionism to witches and the largest reconstruction of a Viking hall in the Nordic countries as well as the world's first sustainability focused theme park, Naturkraft.
Across the country, the accommodation is taken to a new level in 2020 with innovative hotels rethinking and reusing local landmarks. In Copenhagen, the former post head office is turned into a five-starred 390 room hotel Villa Copenhagen, in Aarhus the former library is turned into a design hostel named BOOK1 and in Horsens, the local palace dating back to 1744 is restored to all its former baroque glory under the name Jørgensens Hotel.
