Visit Santa Rosa Announces Wine Road's 22nd Annual Winter WINEland Award-Winning Wineries Open Their Doors for Visitors

Each year visitors come from near and far to attend the celebrated annual Winter WINEland event. This is a rare and great opportunity to meet winemakers, taste limited production wines, new releases or library wines. Visitors choose from over 130 wineries who will offer personal tours & private offerings and very special discounts for attendees. Guests use the detailed program to see exactly what each winery will offer for the weekend and then plan their tasting adventure. Ticket prices include wine tasting at all of the participating wineries for the weekend – guests travel winery to winery they wish to explore. Event runs Saturday & Sunday January 18 - 19, 2014 from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at various wineries throughout Sonoma County. Hundreds gather each winter season in Northern Sonoma County as renowned wineries open their doors so the public like this. Meet and talk one-to-one with winemakers, taste private estate offerings and enjoy exclusive discounts. Participants include; Alexander Valley’s Francis Ford Coppola Winery, here guests experience a resort like atmosphere for people of all ages including food, wine, music, dancing, games, swimming and performances of all types. Trione Winery offers an exceptional wine tasting experience including tours and picnicking on their back patio with incredible views.


From the Dry Creek Valley; picturesque Trattore Estate Winery is located high on a hilltop in northern Sonoma County with commanding views of Geyser Peak and Mount St. Helena to the east and the entire Valley to the west. The magical combination of steep rolling terrain, cool ocean breezes and warm summer days provides the perfect growing conditions for the vines.

 

Representing the Russian River Valley Balletto Vineyards is surrounded by 190 acres of planted vineyards, feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy on their lovely patio. The breathtaking Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates & gardens offer sights, tastes and smells meant to be explored and the Korbel estate is located in the heart of the historic Russian River Valley, near the majestic ancient redwood groves of Armstrong Woods State Reserve and the scenic wonder of the Pacific coastline, showcasing the heritage and history of winemaking in North America. Paradise Ridge Winery has something for each of the senses. Sample as you enjoy expansive decks and terraces open to panoramic vistas and vineyard landscapes. Russian River Vineyards in the heart of Sonoma's famed Valley, is a unique "destination winery" and one of the oldest and most storied in the region.

 

In Santa Rosa proper attendees can visit D'Argenzio Winery at Santa Rosa Vintner's Square. An urban boutique winery started as hobby between two identical twin brothers specializing in Sonoma County & Russian River Valley wines and Italian varietals. Inspiration Vineyards also located in town was established by Jon and Barbara Phillips and is the culmination of Jon’s 15+ years of experience as a wine educator growing their own Chardonnay and century old Zinfandel.
