In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Independence, Visit Maldives and the Maldives High Commission brought Maldivian festivities to London with a day of Boduberu dance performances at the Southbank on 16th August 2015. This was the first event held in the UK to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Independence and Visit Maldives Year 2016 campaign. A troupe of male and female performers entertained visitors throughout the day with a number of performances accompanied by the steady beat of the specialist drummers. Information about Visit Maldives Year (VMY) 2016 was provided to the visitors along with promotional materials.
