Sussex-based luxury tour operator Classic Collection Holidays is offering a unique opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of Kruger National Park, South Africa, and the Maasai Mara, Kenya, with live virtual safaris. The events will include a guided game drive with a ranger followed by a live Questions & Answers session.
When in South Africa, viewers will be visiting a private Big Five game reserve giving a better chance of spotting iconic species such as lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. The audience will be treated to the emerald vegetation of the Kruger region at its thickest and greenest, with the rivers in full flow and the wildlife at its healthiest. Migratory bird species should still be around and given early autumn temperatures the big cats should be spending more time out of the shade. And it's the time of year when spotted hyena are rearing their young.
While a safari is always exhilarating, it's also rewarding to be sharing in the daily routine of the park and its rangers and trackers, where protection and research is of equal importance.
Si Morris-Green, director of sales and marketing for Classic Collection commented 'As with all safaris we can't guarantee what our customers will get to see, but they will get the chance to experience some of the excitement and anticipation that a safari delivers, direct from their home. At a time when people can only plan to travel, it's great to be able to bring the authentic experience of a game drive, in real time and from two of the world's most famous game reserves, into the homes of our customers.'
The first live safari event in South Africa is happening on Wednesday 17 March at 14h30 via zoom call. On Thursday 18 March, the operator is broadcasting live from Kenya's Maasai Mara Reserve, via its Facebook page.
Future experiential virtual events include a legendary afternoon tea at the world-famous Reid's Palace in Madeira, and returning to South Africa for an afternoon of wine tasting in the revered estates of the Franschoek Valley.
