Visit California

After a difficult 2017 with natural disasters, the tourism board is keen to update the media on the latest news and with new attractions and accommodations developing each year, there are always new reasons to visit California. For 2018 there will be a focus on California's diverse outdoors, as well as family offerings, and new hotel openings.

Highway 1's classic road-trip

The coastal route from San Francisco to Los Angeles is one of the most scenic drives in the world. Despite temporary road closures interrupting a stretch of Highway 1, visitors can still experience much of what the Central Coast has to offer, including Big Sur in the north and San Luis Obispo County in the south.  Excitingly, the second part of 2018 will welcome the iconic Highway 1 to fully open.

California Is Open
After a swift recovery from recent events it is now (winter- Spring) that are the best times to visit Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino.  With mild temperatures and few crowds guests can enjoy the Michelin-starred restaurants and local wineries. To the south, Ventura and Santa Barbara are also fully open and welcome visitors to sample the luxury of the Central Coast with urban wineries, boat cruises and some of the best whale watching along the coast.

New Hotel Openings
The Golden State welcomes some brand new hotels and well-deserved refurbishments. Archer Hotel in Napa newly opened in 2018, whilst the LEED certified AND pet friendly The Sheraton Redding hotel opened near the Sundial Bridge. Luxury yacht, The Barkissimo opened for business with function rooms and availability for weddings in Suisun. The Oasis at Death Valley, featuring The Inn at Death Valley and The Ranch at Death Valley, has recently undergone a complete renaissance and will now be open all year-round.
