Visit Baltimore will be exhibiting at the International Media Marketplace on Monday 25th March 2019, the leading single-day event uniting journalists and the travel industry, bringing together exciting new travel stories and events.
Located on the East Coast, Baltimore is a colourful, diverse city that is Maryland's largest city and economic hub. Famous for its beautiful harbour, colourful neighbourhoods, world class museums, Baltimore has been deemed one of America's greatest historical destinations. Featuring an astonishing total of 187 neighbourhoods, Baltimore is booming with historic, authentic and charm-filled neighbourhoods.
Below are some of the unique happenings for 2019 all of which symbolise Baltimore's lovable, quirky charm:
Light City and Baltimore Book Festival
From 1st – 10th November 2019, Light City and Baltimore Book Festival will combine forces for the first time, highlighting the city's burgeoning arts scene, and award-winning artists, authors and performers from around the world. Famed as America's first large-scale festival of light art, music and innovation, Light City transforms 1.5 miles of the Inner Harbor waterfront into an interactive playground of large scale light installations, street performers, concerts, an Opening Night Parade and a Closing Night fireworks finale.
Artscape
It wouldn't be a trip to Baltimore without taking part in the city's local festival scene. In July, thousands of visitors will flock to Artscape, America's largest free outdoor arts festival featuring 150+ fine artists, craftspeople and fashion designers. With live concerts, sculptures and performance pieces including dance, street theatre, jazz, opera and standup comedy, Artscape embodies the city's home-grown arts boom.
HonFest
Baltimore's, iconic Honfest, honouring all things “Bawlmer,” pays tribute to the working women who made Charm City what it is today with women, men, children and pets decked out in their most outrageous retro looks. Symbolising the charm and goodwill that lies within the hearts of those who live, work, and play in Bawlmer, HonFest is an annual celebration of cultural history.
