Vietnam Airlines will begin direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bali (Indonesia) and Phuket (Thailand) from 27 October 2019, with extensive flight schedules operating throughout the week to meet increasing demand. For the UK market these new services will offer an alternative option to fly via Ho Chi Minh City to these popular holiday destinations, whilst also bringing them within a direct flight from Vietnam.
The airline plans to operate flights on the Ho Chi Minh City and Bali route seven times weekly. However, due to operational restrictions at Denpasar Airport (Bali) the airline will operate five flights per week from 27 October 2019 to the end of March 2020. Flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 11:10am and from Bali at 4:50pm every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday of each week. This is the second route launched by Vietnam Airlines that connects Vietnam and Indonesia, following services between Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta, which has been operating since December 2012 with a frequency of seven flights per week.
Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines' third route connecting Vietnam and Thailand via Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket will run three times weekly, departing from Ho Chi Minh City at 3:50pm and from Phuket at 6:40pm every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday of each week. It is anticipated that the frequency of this route will increase to daily flights starting from March 2020.
Vietnam Airlines will also resume operation of the Da Nang to Bangkok daily service starting on the 27 October 2019, departing from Da Nang at 3:20pm and from Bangkok at 6:00pm.
Le Hong Ha, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines said: “The new routes demonstrate Vietnam Airlines' commitment in continually expanding our vast network and adding a new level of convenience and flexibility to passengers' journeys. Apart from offering new, exciting non-stop services, these routes also facilitate international travellers from Europe, Japan, South Korea and many other parts of the world to easily access famous destinations like Bali and Phuket via Vietnam Airlines' connecting flights.”
These new flights are operated on the Airbus A321 aircraft, offering international four-star service standards to passengers.
In celebration of the new flight routes, Vietnam Airlines has launched a promotional saving of up to 50 per cent on return tickets. Until 10 November 2019, passengers can purchase round-trip tickets from London to Bali via Ho Chi Minh City for as little as 490 GBP. This does not include taxes, fees and surcharges and terms and conditions apply. Passengers can buy tickets online at www.vietnamairlines.com, or via official mobile apps, ticket offices and agents of Vietnam Airlines.
