Only YOU

Commemorating the age-old Spanish custom of 'la hora del vermut' or 'vermouth time', Madrid property Only YOU Hotel Atocha is launching a new event “Vermut, Gildas & YOU” offering guests the chance to enjoy the traditional taste of vermouth, together with Spanish “gildas” (a simple Spanish tapa usually made from pickles, olives and anchovies) as well as other Spanish tapas created by hotel chef Javi Mora.

Launching on 9 September 2017 and taking place bi-weekly on Saturdays and Sundays between 1pm and 4pm at Trotamundos (Only YOU Hotel Atocha), visitors can enjoy cold vermouth over ice with an olive and a wedge of orange alongside classic vermouth companions such as gildas, cheeses, Berberchos (canned cockles), mussels in escabeche and cured meats.

This new event by Only YOU Hotel Atocha is just one example of the vermouth renaissance which is sweeping Spain as drinkers embrace the cultural tradition that, until recently, was in decline.

Only YOU Hotel Atocha is located just moments from Madrid's Retiro Park and triangle of art encompassing the Prado, the Reina Sofia and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.  The décor bears the hallmark of prestigious Barcelona-based interior designer Lázaro Rosa Violán, who has created a welcoming, warm and sophisticated space that blends industrial and Mediterranean styles and materials.

The spectacular lobby area offers different spaces and concepts to enjoy during the day or at night featuring exhibitions and events and a bar and café designed to welcome visitors and locals. Since its launch in December 2016, Only YOU Hotel Atocha has become a firm favourite in the capital for early evening drinks and is now adding a new string to its bow with the launch of Vermut, Gildas & YOU.

No bookings are required and prices vary subject to consumption (however a vermouth and tapas is priced at around €8).

Double rooms at Only YOU Hotel Atocha are priced from €140.00 based on two people sharing.
