The world's first leaf fall forecaster is set to transform Autumn tourism in Vermont with daily forest forecasts of colour change as the oncoming winter brings the annual, and magnificent, natural displays of leaf change to one of the most forested states in the US.
Vermont's Official Foliage Forecaster, Mike Snyder, has over 20 years experience of working the forests and national parks of Vermont and will produce daily bulletins and interactive maps tracking and predicting leaf change and colour displays; available via www.vermontvacation.co.uk / @vermonttourism, with a combination of official and local commentary using the hashtag #WorldsBestFoliage.

Alongside bright yellows, fiery oranges and vibrant reds – the secret to Vermont's spectacular seasonal displays is in the sugar: With over three quarters of the State forested, and the highest percentage of Maple trees in the North East – it's the drop in temperature that causes the maple leaves to produce Vermont's unusual hints of pink and purple in its fall colours.
