Hong Kong 8th March, 2010 From 18th February to 18th April 2010, Sofitel London St James is proud to announce that, in partnership with the Institut Van Gogh, The Royal Academy of Arts and Fedex, the hotel will be housing Van Goghs Table for art lovers and history buffs to eat a meal from. Traditionally housed in the Auberge Ravoux, Auvers-sur-Oise, where Van Gogh spent his seventy final and most prolific days, the table was his customary spot in the Ravoux dining room; a true artists caf, which was also popular amongst the likes of Cezanne, Pissarro and other of Van Goghs contemporaries.

For the duration of The Real Van Gogh: The Artist and His Letters exhibition at The Royal Academy, Sofitel London St James will be playing host to Vincent van Goghs table. The hotel is offering Van Gogh enthusiasts and guests of the hotel the chance to dine at his six-seated table with an exclusive menu designed by Albert Roux, inspired by the menu at the Auberge Ravoux. Dishes will include Fillet of Sea Bass with Leeks and Crayfish and Marinated Salmon with Warm Potato Salad.

10% of the final bill will be donated to the Institut Van Gogh. The Institute is raising money to fulfill one of Van Goghs final dreams as noted in one of his last letters to his brother, Theo, one day or another, I believe I shall find a way of having an exhibition of my own in a caf. The Institut Van Gogh is working towards making this dream come true by raising money to purchase an original work of Auvers-sur-Oise and bring it back to his room at the Auberge.

Sofitel Luxury Hotels world-renowned art de recevoir here combines the brands gastronomic expertise with a passion for arts and culture, adding an interactive element to the museum experience.

The hotel is offering the following package to guests and non-guests until 18th April 2010:
