From the curators of culinary desire, the award-winning 117 dining team, led by Sous Chef Luke Fernley, is presenting their spin on a gastronomic love letter with a five-course tasting menu that will showcase Sydney Rock oysters soaked in Hendricks gin, Hiramasa Kingfish sashimi with wasabi and salmon roe, hay-smoked duck, followed by Tajima Wagyu Striploin charcoal grilled. Head of Pastry Simon Veauvy will debut 'Delicate Emotion', an ode to love that blends plump lychees with fresh summer berries; plus, diners will take away a petite treat from our sweets connoisseur.

VALENTINE'S DAY, Cafe Opera

Cafe Opera's sure-to-delight seafood buffet is the ultimate indulgence to celebrate the annual day of love. The evening will begin with a glass of Australian sparkling on arrival and move on to platters of Sydney Rock oysters, Green Lip mussels and Tiger prawns, to name a few. Enter into a space teeming with fresh Australian produce, from the live chef's carvery to a duck pancake station, artisan tapas and charcuterie, to tiers of sweet treats such as tarts, cakes, slices and sorbets.

CHINESE NEW YEAR, 117 dining  

To celebrate the annual Lunar milestone, the 117 dining team is presenting a five-course menu featuring a starter of tea-smoked scallop dumplings, followed by grilled Tiger prawns, steamed Cone Bay barramundi and Hong Saho Rou pork belly. The menu finishes with Veauvy's sweet 'Delicate Emotion' dessert of lychee and raspberry for an elegant end to the evening, in addition to the take-home token made especially by the pastry team as a memento. 

With 117 dining's ethos of innovation and sustainability, guests will experience local produce anew with Asian flavours.

CHINESE NEW YEAR, Cafe Opera

Cafe Opera will present a custom-designed deluxe seafood buffet brimming with market-fresh seafood, interactive dim sum stations, salads and other international cuisines with a twist on Asian flavours. The menu will include Balmain bugs, crabs, octopus, Sydney Rock oysters, Tiger prawns, sashimi and whole baked Atlantic salmon direct from the Sydney Fish Market; plus an array of roasts from the carvery, artisan salads and antipasti, vintage cheeses and a show-stopping display of desserts to satiate the sweet tooth. All diners will receive a traditional red envelope with a surprise gift inside.
