Utah Office of Tourism will have a delegation of five representatives from Utah on their stand, NA350 at World Travel Market 2014.
They will be highlighting the Mighty 5 campaign, which features the state's five national parks - Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion, and latest news and developments in Salt Lake City.
The team will also focus on recent ski developments including:
- Vail Resorts' recent take over of Canyons and Park City to create the largest ski area in the USA for 2015-16 season, with over 7000 acres of skiing, by connecting the two resorts with a new lift.
- Ski City USA – Salt Lake City has re-branded as Ski City USA to highlight its convenience as a base for skiers, who can connect by public transport links with all inclusive ski pass covering four hip ski resorts near the city; Snowbird, Solitude, Alta and Brighton. With short transfers from the airport and great hotels, restaurants and bars to enjoy in the city, it's a great new way to Ski Utah.
- Deer Valley has purchased Solitude which is expected to create a more internationally focused resort of Solitude, which to date has largely appealed to the domestic market, with its superb on and off piste skiing just 40 minutes from the city.
- One Wasatch: Ski Utah has launched its concept to create one massive ski area by joining the seven resorts of Alta, Brighton, Canyons, Deer Valley, Park City, Snowbird and Solitude. This would offer 18,000 plus acres of skiing, around 100 lifts and 200 plus ski runs with extensive off piste skiing. This would require just 6 new lifts but has to go through local planning processes. Each ski resort is supporting the bid to create a ski area in Utah that would compete with the biggest ski areas in the world.
