For the next four weekends only, global city tour company, Urban Adventures is offering travellers behind-the-scenes, VIP access to rehearsals for the world-famous Rio Carnival.

Urban Adventures specialises in unique, offbeat day tours that are led by passionate and knowledgeable locals with the inside scoop on their city's hidden gems. Its new Rio Samba Experience will take travellers behind the scenes at the Salgueiro Samba School to meet dancers and musicians, practice a few Samba moves and learn some percussion, before partying the night away with the performers as they prepare for Carnival.

The Rio Samba Experience takes place on Saturday evenings in February and costs USD170 (approx. AUD194/ CAD189/ CHF153/ EUR125/ GBP103/ NZD206) for a six-hour experience, including a caipirinha cocktail, dance and percussion lessons, entry to the Samba School, transport and an English-speaking, local guide. The maximum group size is 12 people, resulting in a more personal experience with greater opportunities for interaction than on many tours.
