As its name implies, Uno is a one-of-a-kind restaurant featuring favorite Italian specialties.  The contemporary Italian restaurant is located on the first level of the hotel and offers a welcoming ambiance with high ceilings that let in plenty of natural daylight and beautiful rich wood floors.  Brightly colored upholstered plush armchairs and couches are especially inviting, and encourage casual conversations, while a children's playroom offers a delightful distraction for the youngest guests.  And, in a first for the Mandalay, an adjoining Mercedes-Benz showroom is an outstanding diversion as guests can browse the latest luxury offerings while their gourmet pizzas bake.  Located one level up is a private dining room for more intimate gatherings.

The hotel's Executive Chef, Idam Setiadarma, brings more than 30 years of culinary experience to Uno, including a prestigious appointment as Executive Residence Chef at the British Embassy in Jakarta.  As Residence Chef, he planned and executed elaborate gala dinners and cocktail parties for hosts of special diplomatic guests.  Having to cater to an international array of palettes, Chef Setiadarma is adept at preparing a variety of ethnic cuisines from around the world.

Under Chef Setiadarma's direction, Uno's menu showcases wood-fired pizzas and homemade pastas.  Uno is the only restaurant in Mandalay offering guests two types of authentic pizzas: thick crust with soft, thick dough; and thin crust that is crispy on the outside and soft and chewy inside.  On the weekends, guests can watch their pizzas bake when the wood-fired oven is set up on the al fresco patio.

Signature pizzas include the Super Supreme and the Chicarbonara and favorite pastas include Black Pepper Beef Fettucine and Bolopronto Spaghetti.  Other signature dishes include Zuppa Soup, a rich vegetable soup finished with a doughy crust baked on top, and the Uno Burger. Rounding out Uno's menu are a variety of internationally inspired dishes that span the globe, from Beef Bulgogi and Kabobs, to Burritos and Quesadillas.

Uno is open daily from 9:00am – 11:00pm and features live music from The Winner Band every Friday and Saturday from 7:30pm – 9:30pm.  Al Fresco dining is available daily.
