The introduction of �Revenge of the Mummy�The Ride� coincides with Universal Studios Hollywood�s 40th Anniversary. As the Hollywood landmark enters its fifth decade, the arrival of this ground-breaking thrill ride signals a milestone in the transformation of what was first conceived as a �behind the scenes look at Hollywood filmmaking� into a world-class entertainment destination. The movie-based theme park has fully evolved from its Studio Tour beginnings by adding rides and attractions that employ the latest in both movie and theme park technologies and offer both local and visiting guests a uniquely immersive entertainment experience.

The adventure continues at �Terminator 2: 3D� where guests are immersed in the stunning special effects, ground-breaking 3D film and pulse-pounding live action of James Cameron�s dramatic �virtual adventure� and at �Jurassic Park�the Ride� where guests face the unrelenting terror and exhilaration of Steven Spielberg�s breathtaking film. The �Greatest Fairy Tale Never Told� come to life in Universal Studios� state-of-the-art attraction, �Shrek 4-D�,� based on the DreamWorks� Academy-Award winning hit. Featuring ground-breaking �OgreVision� animation and sensory immersion, �Shrek 4-D� reunites the comic talents of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow with the artistry of the animation team at PDI/DreamWorks who created the original blockbuster in an all-new animated saga that picks up where �Shrek� left off.

�Spider-Man Rocks� brings the excitement of the Marvel super-hero to the stage in an elaborate 20-minute production packed with pyrotechnics and stunts, along with music, eye-dazzling choreography, dynamic costumes and a cast of dancing, singing and web-wielding actors in the fun-filled, family friendly attraction. �Special Effects Stages� immerses guests in the magic of moving making special effects and gives them an opportunity to participate in some of the behind-the-scenes filmmaking and cutting edge technology used to create the special effects from such Universal blockbusters as �The Scorpion King,� �Gladiator,� �Dr. Seuss� How the Grinch Stole Christmas,� �The Mummy� and �The Hulk.�

In �Back to the Future�The Ride� guests scream through time in Doc Brown�s flying DeLorean and feel the heat of �Backdraft� as it explodes to life in an inferno of flames.

Aboard Universal Studios� signature attraction, the world famous behind-the-scenes �Studio Tour,� guests get even closer to the world of movie making magic, as they navigate the studios 415-acres, soundstages, facades and sets. Revenge of the Mummy�The Ride In June 2004, Universal Studios Hollywood will introduce �Revenge of the Mummy�The Ride,� based on Universal Pictures� and visionary filmmaker Stephen Sommers� phenomenally popular �Mummy� films which have grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide. Universal Studios Hollywood�s first-ever roller coaster, �Revenge of the Mummy�The Ride� will tap into rider�s primal fears through immersion in a total multi-sensory environment. Utilizing animatronics, sophisticated motion picture technology, state-of-the-art ride, audio and robotics engineering, the ride will play upon common human phobias: fear of the dark, fear of insects, fear of speed, fear of heights and fear of death to deliver the world�s first psychological thrill ride.

Back to the Future�The Ride It's one of the most ambitious rides ever engineered, housed in the world's tallest twin-domed Omnimax theater. �Back to the Future�The Ride� is the first thrill adventure at Universal Studios Hollywood to utilize specially designed DeLoreans powered by the latest in state-of-the-art motion-based technology. Guests become Doc Brown's time traveling volunteers as they are led on a wild chase through time from the Ice Age to the year 2015 amid free-falling volcanic tunnels, glacial cliffs and prehistoric dinosaurs.

Terminator 2: 3D �Terminator 2: 3D� combines thrilling live action stunts with the most sophisticated digital imaging technology ever created, projected on the world�s largest 3-D screen to achieve the visceral, immersive effect of a virtual adventure experience. Starring the original cast from �Terminator 2: Judgment Day,� Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick reunited with triple Oscar-winning �Titanic� writer, director and producer James Cameron in the filming of the spectacular 3D film sequel. This unprecedented gathering marked the first time that a feature film�s creative production team united to bring a motion picture bursting to life in an attraction.

Jurassic Park�The Ride Universal Studios Hollywood brings famed director Steven Spielberg�s epic movie roaring to life with the unleashing of the greatest and most technically advanced attraction ever created, �Jurassic Park�The Ride.� The phenomenal interactive ride thrusts guests into the living, breathing, prehistoric world of Jurassic Park, a land where stormy skies are pierced by colossal, three-dimensional, five-story dinosaurs that move within inches of awe-struck faces and a world where visitors discover that they have become prey for the terrifying T-Rex. �Jurassic Park�The Ride� combines the most sophisticated state-of-the-art computer and robotic technology to create animatronic figures that are more advanced than any other ever designed. Special Effects Stages �Special Effects Stages� is an interactive attraction designed to introduce guests to the entertainment industry�s greatest movie making illusions by showcasing a series of cutting edge sleight-of-sight effects featured in such Universal hits as �The Hulk,� �The Scorpion King,� �Dr. Seuss� How The Grinch Stole Christmas,� �The Mummy Returns,� �Gladiator� and �Jurassic Park.�

WaterWorld�A Live Sea War Spectacular Transformed into the eerie-futuristic, mist-shrouded netherworld from the Kevin Costner movie adventure, �WaterWorld�A Live Sea War Spectacular� represents the most complex combination of high-tech special effects, pyrotechnics, flame and human stunt work ever attempted anywhere in the world. The attraction, which puts studio guests in the middle of the exciting action, involves hundreds of stunts and fiery special effects. Highlights include giant fireballs rising 50 feet in the air and cascading to earth in a spectacular wall of fire and a seaplane that swoops in directly above the audience, skidding across the water and coming to an explosive crash landing just inches away from startled spectators.

Spider-Man Rocks! �Spider-Man Rocks!� brings the excitement of the Marvel super-hero to the stage in an elaborate 20-minute production packed with pyrotechnics, high-flying stunts, cool music and dance. The adventure will feature eye-dazzling choreography along with dynamic costumes and a cast of dancing, singing and web-wielding actors for a fun-filled, family friendly attraction. Capturing the tale of the classic Marvel comic legend, the attraction will pit Spider-Man against his arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin for adrenaline-pumping adventure. Highlights feature incredible stunt work that propel Spider-Man more than 30 feet into the air, right over the audience.

Nickelodeon Blast Zone Universal Studios Hollywood and Nickelodeon team to launch �Nickelodeon Blast Zone� � a 30,000 square-foot interactive adventure zone bringing Nickelodeon�s wildly popular children�s animated television programs to life. Highlights of California�s largest Nickelodeon-themed attraction include: �Nickelodeon Splash!,� an elaborate water play area, �Wild Thornberry�s Adventure Temple,� a rough-n-tumble ball play arena comprised of more than 25,000 molten lava-colored foam balls and the �Nick Jr. Backyard,� an interactive play area for kids under the age of six.

Animal Planet Live! �Animal Planet Live!� debuts at Universal Studios Hollywood bringing the Animal Planet Network�s favorite shows to life in a humorous, interactive stage experience that shows how life is better with animals. �Animal Planet Live!� integrates demonstrations by some of the world�s most clever and dexterous animal stars, multi-media effects, human co-stars and unique sketches into a warm and lively family entertainment experience.

Backdraft �Backdraft� recreates the breathtaking special effects from the Ron Howard Universal blockbuster, putting guests directly into the intensity of the film's spectacular final warehouse inferno with searing reality. Upon entering a 500,000-cubic-foot sound stage, guests confront ruptured fuel lines, melting metal and withering heat. Massive explosions of flammable fuel drums are triggered causing overhead pipes to burst and red-hot ashes to rain throughout the structure. An imposing fireball ultimately consumes the roof and collapses the supporting platform, leaving thrilled guests poised precariously amongst the unabated flames.

Lucy: A Tribute �Lucy: A Tribute� enables Lucy's countless fans to stroll through her dazzling Hollywood career that began in 1933. Cued for viewing are home video footage and slides of Lucy, Desi and their family, her numerous Emmy Awards, her incredible 25 TV Guide covers, as well as magazine articles, newspaper clippings and fan letters from such diverse personalities as J. Edgar Hoover and former Presidents of the United States. Fans can visit the both the �I Love Lucy� set and Lucy's Beverly Hills home den, which have been meticulously recreated, and test their Lucy knowledge with the interactive "California, Here We Come" game.

Behind-the-Scenes Studio Tour Universal Studios Hollywood world-reknowned behind-the-scenes �Studio Tour� brings guests even closer to the world of movie making magic with its state-of-the-art audio and video technology designed to showcase sets as they appeare in Universal films. Universal's 415-acre movie lot features over 500 outdoor sets and facades depicting locations as diverse as the Old West, New York City and Europe and where such blockbusters as �Bruce Almighty,� �The Hulk,� �The Cat in the Hat,� �The Scorpion King,� Dr. Seuss� How the Grinch Stole Christmas,� �Back to the Future� and �Jurassic Park� filmed.

Curse of the Mummy�s Tomb Based on Universal Pictures� blockbusters, �The Mummy� and �The Mummy Returns,� the �Curse of the Mummy�s Tomb� attraction sends guests spiraling through the ruins of Hamunaptra, where they confront images of awakened mummies, armies of slithering scarabs and a fortress of buried treasure.

The attraction encases guests within a sand and stone replication of an ancient Egyptian tomb. Inside the burial chamber, guests traverse a rotating, vertigo-inducing tunnel and encounter the evil, haunting high priest Imhotep, sentenced to spend eternity as one of the living dead.

Earthquake�The Big One Housed within a two-story soundstage containing a recreation of a modern subway station, �Earthquake�The Big One� puts guests in the midst of a fully dressed movie set, ready for filming. In slightly more than two minutes, the earth literally collapses, simulating the devastation of a 8.3 magnitude earthquake. As the pavement collapses above them, guests face sparking power cables, felled telephone polls, noxious gases, a crashed 18-wheeler containing highly flammable contents, and a massive 60,000-gallon flood.

King Kong This exterior set within an interior setting, boasting the world's largest animated figure (a 30-foot King Kong), showcases the power of Hollywood magic. Riding aborad the �Studio Tour,� guests enter a soundstage and witness how the rampaging Kong devastates a tranquil New York City neighborhood. From a crashing news helicopter and a fiery blaze to steaming broken pipes, Hollywood special effects unfold right before guests� eyes.

Jaws Lake Situated in the quiet New England town of Amity, �Jaws Lake� features an animatronic great-white shark similar to the one used in Steven Spielberg�s classic �Jaws.� Guests explore the town, which also doubled for Cabot Cove in the TV series �Murder, She Wrote,� and find themselves at the mercy of the same man-eating, great-white that terrorized the citizens of Amity. After collapsing the dock and causing it to erupt in flames, the shark lunges out of the water for the ultimate movie making special effect.

Movie Making Weather Special Effects: flash flood, snow and rainforest fog When a film requires the wonders of mother nature, it�s up to Hollywood special effects technicians to work their movie magic. These weather wizards have recreated unique climate conditions within the comfort of Southern California�s rather predictable weather along the �Studio Tour.� Guests will play witness to a terrifying monsoon sweeping the area with torrential rain, be thrust into a turbulent snowstorm, and experience the effects of a rainforest fog as it permeates through the Studio Tour trams.

The Collapsing Bridge Showcasing more movie magic, guests ride aboard what is introduced as one of the studio�s oldest bridges. With the help of hydraulics, the bridge seems to collapse under the pressure of the tram, leading guests to momentarily believe their lives are in peril. Once those traversing it make it safely across, they watch the bridge �rebuild� itself.

Starway The futuristic Starway links the upper and lower portions of the Universal lots. With spectacular views, this multi-layered escalator and adjoining steps stretch over 1/4 mile to an area of the studio previously inaccessible to the public. �Jurassic Park�The Ride,� �Backdraft,� �Special Effects Stages,�� �Lucy: A Tribute� and the new �Revenge of the Mummy�The Ride� are some of the attractions located on the lower lot.

Located throughout the theme park are Universal�s Streets of the World � London�s Baker Street, The Moulin Rouge, Fifties America and a Parisian courtyard, which often display original movie props such as those featured in Universal Pictures� �Bourne Identity.�
