United States' first “Snow Room” comes to Costa Mesa
Toronto-based Canada Goose is bringing its Canadian heritage to the largest shopping destination on the West Coast with quintessential products for Californians – offering supreme functionality and protection for any adventure. The iconic Snow Room, the next generation of the brand's award-winning Cold Room, arrives in the United States for the first time at this South Coast Plaza store, giving guests the opportunity to explore Canada Goose's extensive product library and trusted expertise in performance. For tourists who want to feel the Arctic, the store's Snow Room simulates a daily snowstorm with temperatures reaching as low as -10°F. This innovative retail experience replicates various weather conditions, an invitation to put Canada Goose products to the ultimate test in functionality. The Snow Room's environment is inspired by the climate of Churchill, Manitoba, best known as the Polar Bear capital of the world. The South Coast Plaza Canada Goose location is the second shop in the United States, and the only one with the Snow Room.
Decking the halls at the West Coast's largest shopping destination
In a city that is home to the largest shopping destination on the West Coast, Costa Mesa takes the holidays very seriously. Beginning November 22nd, South Coast Plaza transforms into a winter wonderland, bringing in decor that fills the 2.8 million-square-foot center. Santa's Village & The North Pole is built overnight in the iconic Carousel Court where children line up to get their holiday wishes heard by Santa himself. In the Macy's Home Store Wing of South Coast Plaza, The Reindeer Carousel and Santa's Express Train can be enjoyed by our young visitors, and holiday crafts can be built with the family.
Immersed in the holiday season - Stage Performances, Tree Lightings and Holiday Events
The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony hosted by the Segerstrom Family is always the sign of the opening of the season. This year's event will be held on November 18, 2021, from 7pm to 9pm in Town Center Park, which is adjacent to The Westin South Coast Plaza. South Coast Plaza's tree lighting will feature magical performances by Orange County School of the Arts and special guest Matthew Morrison (best known for his role as Will Schuester in “Glee”), and a special visit from Santa while snow fills the Southern California air.
Costa Mesa is home to the world acclaimed arts organization, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, which will be hosting The Nutcracker from December 10 – December 19, performed by the American Ballet Theatre. This timeless holiday story will be performed by a cast of 100 featuring sets and costumes by the Tony Award®- winning Richard Hudson.
Winter Fest OC will be making their annual winter festival into a drive-thru experience for the second year in a row. From December 10 – January 10, visitors can experience an immersive winter wonderland drive-thru experience titled “Night of Lights OC.” From 5pm to 9:30pm nightly, guests can ride in their own vehicle in awe at the mile-long route featuring themed holiday scenery, special effects, snow flurries, an animated light show and over 1 million lights synchronized to music that can play over your car radio.
