Mindfulness Journeys leads meditation retreats in elegant, chic destinations in a choice of beautiful, natural settings. We offer the unique opportunity to connect with local culture, nature as well as deeply with oneself. Think excellent simple cuisine, stylish interiors, a balance between elegant not opulent and finding relaxation and techniques in the teachings of Mindfulness/Awareness.

During the months of May to October we visit Morocco, Italy and Greece. Days are gently opened and closed with Mindfulness Awareness Meditation and in between is spacious time for relaxing, swimming, enjoying lovingly prepared meals, cooking or sculpture classes, walks, snorkelling, kayaking, riding a camel or visiting the beautiful town of Assisi. We go from the Medina of Marrakech to the desert, through the fields of sunflowers in Umbria to the cool Aegean waters of our small private Greek Island. At times limited to an intimate number of 10 people.

Introducing our Italian Umbrian country side retreat, we say “Our country estate in Umbria will be our beautiful home for a week. Your days will start and end with a Mindfulness Awareness Meditation session and a Nonviolent Communication workshop with your teachers – Brian Hilliard and Louise Romain. In between you will enjoy lovingly prepared organic, Italian meals in our peaceful gardens under the summer sun. There will be time to cool off in the swimming pool, take walks, read, have naps or explore the nearby world famous city of Assisi. Or you can truffle hunt with Rolli the dog, learn to make homemade pasta, take a sculpture class or play garden chess. An incredible blend of deep relaxation, delicious food, culture, reconnecting with nature and taking home profound new tools for your everyday life. Led by highly qualified teacher, Brian Hilliard, a close student of Tibetan Masters over the past 36 years, Brian takes his deep personal mindfulness/awareness meditation instruction way beyond current trends of meditation retreats.

Co-founder Shannon van Staden worked as a hospitality coordinator on luxury yachts, as well as a host of National Geographic's global private jet expeditions and has been a fashion stylist to well known luminaries. Shannon fundraises for non-profits and is a Meditation Guide to students.
