With moorlands and mountains, coastlines and fells providing the inspiring backdrops for the luxury properties they represent, innovative holiday rental company Unique Homestays has been working in partnership with Rewilding Britain since September 2019. On a mission to aid the restoration of the natural world, the agency committed to contribute a percentage from every booking taken, in a bid to create a greener future through domestic travel.
Assisting in the launch of the Rewilding Network, the money has helped bring together landowners, land managers and local groups across more than 145,000 hectares, along with nine marine projects. Withing the two-year period, Rewilding Britain has also used the funds raised to carry out two pioneering reports as well as influence the Government's £640,000,000 Nature for Climate fund.
Unique Homestays' carefully curated portfolio champions the British staycation and provides ecoconscious travellers the opportunity to experience extraordinary private home escapes where luxury and sustainability combine, without the need for long haul flights.
Annie Carter, People, Culture & Development Manager at Unique Homestays:
“It goes without saying that alongside much of society our team are passionate about social and environmental issues, as such our guests support of our endeavours with Rewilding Britain gives us an incredible sense of pride as individuals and as a collective.”
According to Nature Climate Change, tourism accounts for 8% of the world's carbon emissions and, with the recent promise made by world leaders to reduce emissions by 2030, why not support efforts by giving the gift of travel this Christmas? With 157 rewilding and restoration projects currently in action and the continued pledge in place, a Unique Homestays gift card provides eco-friendly escapism, whilst also supporting the rewilding of precious eco-systems.
