Lincoln's vibrant city provides a huge range of amazing places to explore.
There's Lincoln Castle which houses a Victorian prison and a copy of the Magna Carta in it's stone walls, the ancient mysteries of Lincoln Cathedral which was once the tallest building in the world with a Wren-designed Library inside and The Collection Museum and Usher Gallery found in the hustle and bustle of Lincoln centre.
One great way to uncover the hidden secrets of all these locations and have a lot of fun at the same time it with a Treasure Trail.
Designed for ages from six to 106, there are lots of Treasure Trails to choose from in Lincoln and across the county with locations such as Horncastle, Skegness and Louth.
Discover the old streets of Lincoln and whodunnit with the Licoln Cathedral Quarter Murder Mystery Trail, starting at Exchequer Gate on a circular walk encompassing Bailgate and the Lawn Complex past Wandsworth Street to the Cathedral itself.
The Trails cost £6.99 (plus P&P if required), are suitable for groups of up to five and, compared to the average family day out at a theme park or visitor attraction, represent amazing value for money. They're also really popular with a Facebook star rating of 4.8/5.
Lasting around two hours, the aim is to solve clues on a circular route of approximately two miles incorporating plaques, signs, statues, monuments, images, engravings or any other unique or quirky features found in the area.
They can be downloaded from Treasure Trails' website (www.treasuretrails.co.uk) and printed immediately, or sent in the post.
As well as providing a fun way to explore a new area, the Trails also offer the chance to see an area you thought you knew well in a totally different way
