Hong Kong's boutique 'art hotel' The Minden is celebrating its 5th anniversary with the introduction of new art pieces to the hotel and unbeatable HK$700-a-night summer packages.
Already home to a number of late 19th and early 20th century Biedermeier furniture, and paintings and prints dating back to the 17th century, this month The Minden will unveil series of new works from Europe enhancing the hotels art deco ambience.
Masterpieces from internationally renowned artists will include Antonio Moro from Spain, E. Chateignon from France, Italian painter Pelagio and an original canvas by George Chinnery, the most important artist painting on the South China Coast during Hong Kongs early years as a British colony.
At the same time, the homely hotel, ranked as one of the top five hotels in Hong Kong by Lonely Planet, will launch bargain deals for both business and leisure travellers to enjoy until September 15, 2009.
The 'Business Package' discounted to HK$700 includes continental breakfast and upgrade to deluxe room alongside a host of other benefits to the professional-on-the-go including one complimentary suit pressing and a 20% discount on meeting room hire and secretarial services.
The 'Summer Holiday Package', also discounted to HK$700, includes breakfast with a HK$100 cash credit voucher for drinks at the hotels quaint lounge bar, Courtney's with outdoor terrace and vertical green wall.
All guests joining the above packages would enjoy a host of complimentary extras which include Continental breakfast, broadband Internet, local phone calls, a fruit basket upon arrival.
The Minden is conveniently located in the heart of Minden Avenue, Kowloons most fashionable entertainment and nightlife hub, just steps from the famous Nathan Road, Star Ferry, MTR station and the KCR rail line.
It was founded by entrepreneur and fine arts connoisseur Robert Wang, and is an eclectic mix of arts and antiques, and comfortable and practical accommodation.
The hotels lounge bar, Courtney's showcases colourful, contemporary, expressionist images of women by Pauline Courtney, who was also a consultant to the hotel's interior design.
Our concept is a home-away-from-home for lovers of beautiful objects, and we have established a unique niche in Hong Kong hospitality as we continue to enhance the collection, said Mr. Wang.
Another distinctive feature of the 64-room hotel is Courtneys outdoor terrace with hanging garden -- voted as one of the Top Five Clubs and Bars in Tsim Sha Tsui by Lonely Planet, it is an ideal spot for outdoor cocktails on Hong Kong's sultry summer nights.
The hotel's unique artistic ambience is complemented by its proximity to local sights and attractions including Hong Kongs first art mall, K11, with six storeys of retail, entertainment, food and beverage and arts space, as well as a Skylight piazza that will be open any time now.
All rates are subject to 10% service charge.
