Holiday company www.holidaysplease.co.uk has become the first travel company to offer Google Glass free to its customers. It has taken delivery of its first order of Google Glass and is contacting its top spending customers to see whether they would like to borrow them for their next holiday.
In order to qualify the customers will have to be members of the company's reward scheme and they will have to ensure that they have adequate travel insurance to cover the cost of the glasses (around £1,000).
About Google Glass
Google Glass was launched in the UK on 24th June 2014 to a limited number of “Explorers”. The glasses allow users take photos/video from a pair of normal looking glasses and they also provide live information to the user's eyeline. This can include flight times, currency exchange rates and even translations. They are seen as particularly useful for people travelling abroad.
Holidaysplease recognises that holidays can present particular privacy issues with other holidaymakers often in a state of undress when by the beach/pool for example. As a result Holidaysplease has published guidelines for the use of the glasses by their customers.
