Sunsail have spaces for members of the press to join us for a week on our new UK Flotilla during May half term, departing Saturday 29th May 2010.
Sunsail are the only yacht charter company offering Flotilla holidays within the UK, giving customers the opportunity to experience some of the best sailing waters in the world, without the long haul. Setting sail from Sunsails Portsmouth base, you will venture out in to the Solent in the company of your Flotilla, with your lead crew guiding the way. From there you will sail past historic sights, castles and old towns across the south coast. As well as spending a night at Cowes Yacht Haven home to the world famous Cowes Week, a must for every sailor!
Whether you need help mooring, are experiencing engine problems or would just like a restaurant recommendation, a lead crew is available 24 hours a day to help with all your sailing (and social) needs.
The Solent really is one of the best sailing areas that the world has to offer and, with the help of your fantastic lead crew, a Flotilla holiday enables you and your family to discover and explore the best spots while enjoying some great social interaction with others, comments Simon Conder, Global Brand Manager..
A yacht is available for members of the press with a private Sunsail Skipper on board no sailing experience required. However, if you would like to experience the Flotilla with family or friends, please get in contact and we will arrange a private yacht, subject to availability. For this option you will need a minimum of RYA Day Skipper and at least one competent crew.
Sunsail Flotillas provide the perfect balance between independence and unobtrusive support while sailing. Our specially chosen itineraries ensure that family and friends visit some of the best anchorages, whilst being able to take as much time for free sailing as you like.
Flotillas are the ultimate in social sailing, each Flotilla will have a maximum of 12 yachts in its group, allowing you to discover and explore your chosen destination, either as a group or individually, at your leisure. It is entirely up to you. As well as the reassurance of being part of a group of like-minded people, you will cast off each day with the support of your Lead Crew.
