Ellison Roberts, a travel company specialising in the Indian sub-continent, announces two new tours of Nepal for 2014/15.  The 8-night Highlights of Nepal and the 11-night Discover Nepal tours focus on Nepal's extraordinary culture, heritage and wildlife.  These treasures are little-known to the British and Ellison Roberts has constructed these new, bespoke itineraries of the best examples.  Furthermore, the wildlife safaris are exhilarating and take in a visit to an elephant camp and canoe ride to a crocodile farm as well as the chance to see rare one-horned Asian rhino.

The 8-night tour of must-see highlights starts in the UNESCO world heritage site of the Kathmandu Valley and continues to the Chitwan National Park and Pokhara city.  The 11-night tour also includes a trip to Dhulikhel taking in the magically preserved historic town of Panauti.

The visits to temples and palaces include the Patan Durbar Square which is the best preserved of the seven Monument Zones that make up the Kathmandu Valley World Heritage Site. The wildlife safaris in the Chitwan National Park offer the chance to see elephants bathing, plus the one-horned Asian rhino, Gharial crocodiles and occasionally a Royal Bengal tiger. The trip to Pokhara city includes a boat trip on Lake Phewa, a visit to Devi's Fall and a hill trek to admire breathtaking views. 

Both tours offer an optional extra 45-minute flight past Mount Everest for £140 per person and both can be combined with extra days in India, Bhutan and Tibet.

The best times to visit Nepal are October, November, March and April.  Prices for 8 nights during these periods start at £1800 per person including hotels on B&B basis, flights, transport within Nepal and local guide.
