The Great Lakes USA welcomes two new preferred partners in Traverse City, Michigan and Great River Country, Illinois.
The Great Lakes USA consortium consists of the Great Lakes region of the United States and exists to promote international tourism to the area; the current member states are Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
The preferred partner programme allows destinations and attractions within each member state to be part of the international tourism effort.
In the past couple of months the number of preferred partners has doubled, highlighting the increasing awareness of the importance of generating tourism within the region. Along with Traverse City and Great River Country the Great Lakes USA has recently welcomed Duluth, Minnesota and the Mall of America, Minnesota.
Toby McCarrick, Executive Director of Great Lakes USA has said: “Great Lakes USA is on a roll!
“Gaining new Preferred Partner Members is one more way to expand our long-term regional marketing initiative. By securing these committed partners, we can increase our sales/marketing efforts and become even more successful at driving international travel to Great Lakes USA.”
The new preferred partners will be represented on the upcoming Great Lakes USA sales mission to the UK in May 2016, as well as at World Travel Market later in the year along with all current members and preferred partners.
