Dimore di Ulisse, south east Sicily 

New and exclusive to soloSicily, Dimore di Ulisse is a beachside property with wonderful garden and pool and just a few minutes walk to a sandy beach.  It is made up of two adjacent cottages, each sleeping up to four and is ideal for two families or a group of friends.

One of the most striking features is the villa's spacious first floor roof terrace, which overlooks the sea and is stylishly furnished with a dining table, low seating and sun-loungers.  There is a circular covered gazebo by the pool, outdoor kitchen and barbecue and plenty of outdoor space, with a volleyball court, table tennis and football nets.

The cottages are bright and airy with contemporary interiors and each has two bedrooms, an open plan living area and kitchens leading out to the garden for alfresco dining.

The Vendicari Nature Reserve, with its lagoons, sand dunes and rocky coastlines, is just 25 minutes' drive away and the UNESCO World Heritage towns in the Val di Noto are half an hour.  The nearby small coastal town of Pozzallo is great for windsurfing.  Catania airport is one hour and twenty minutes drive from the villa.

Fiore d'Arancio, south west Sicily

Fiore d'Arancio is a peaceful countryside villa surrounded by fields, situated close to the sea.  The closest beach at Seccagrande is within walking distance of the villa and has shops, restaurants and a beach club.

The villa, which is exclusive to soloSicily, has a large garden and pool, outdoor kitchen with wood-burning oven and covered gazebo, a small gym and pretty tiled kitchen and bathroom.  Sleeping up to seven, the villa has three bedrooms in the main house and one double bedroom in a guest house beside the pool.

The villa is just half an hour from the Torre Salsa Nature Reserve, with its miles of unspoilt beaches, wetlands and dramatic white chalk cliffs.  Sicily's most famous archaeological site, the Valley of the Temples near Agrigento (a UNESCO World Heritage site), is 40 minutes drive.  Palermo airport is one and half hours drive from the villa.
