Travel agents can earn 50 percent commission on packages booked March 1 and 2
PHOENIX -- America West Vacations (NYSE: AWA) announced today it is offering travel agents a special incentive to book America West Vacation packages to Alaska. For two days only (March 1 and 2), travel agents who book a complete air and hotel package directly through America West Vacations will receive a 50 percent commission on the published price of the package. America West Vacations offers two different types of Alaska packages. First, 3 to 14-night planned itinerary packages, provided in conjunction with All Alaska Tours, which feature highlights of several regions and offer the best of Alaska's attractions. All itineraries start and finish in Anchorage and include hotel stays and transportation. Some packages also include meals and activities. Second, for the "do it yourselfer," air and hotel inclusive packages with accommodations in Anchorage and Seward are also available. Itinerary packages qualifying for the 50 percent commission are valid for travel from May 14 through June 30, 2005. Air inclusive hotel packages in Anchorage and Seward are valid for the entire travel period, March 1 through May 29, 2005.
To earn the special commission offer, travel agents must book their client's air and hotel package to Alaska with America West Vacations by calling 1-800-2-FLY-AWV (1-800-235-9298) between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. MST on March 1 or 2, 2005. The offer cannot be earned by booking through America West Vacations' travel agent Web site (www.awvtravelagents.com) or global distribution systems (GDS). Five percent commission on published air is capped at $10 one-way, $20 roundtrip.
