Twelve Ways at Christmas to Savour a Local Taste of Warwickshire

Visit Warwickshire

Warwickshire, 24 November 2020: Visit Warwickshire – a new website filled with ideas about what to see and do around the county – is recommending 12 ways this Christmas to savour the area's food and drink. From goodies for the Christmas table to gifts for foodie friends and family, the hotlist features treats to buy and experiences to enjoy at some of the county's best artisanal producers, independent stores, and festive markets.

There's cider brewed in Warwickshire's orchards to sample at Napton Cidery (www.naptoncidery.co.uk), pictured above centre, and homemade chocolate dinosaurs for stocking fillers at Henley Chocolates (www.henleychocolates.co.uk), pictured above left.

For an unusual alternative to the Christmas turkey, prime buffalo steaks and joints are now on sale at Napton Water Buffalo Farm (https://naptonwaterbuffalo.wordpress.com). And Auntie's Sauces of Nuneaton (www.auntiessauces.com) has created a gift set of its Indian dipping sauces, from chilli mango to tamarind.

Foodies can roll up their sleeves at Jessica Mooney's workshop on how to make a festive Panforte, on 17 December at The Farm, Stratford-upon-Avon (https://thefarmstratfordshop.com). Or there's the chance to create the perfect tipple in one of the beautiful copper stills at Moores of Warwick's Gin School Experience (https://mooresofwarwick.com), pictured above right. Meanwhile, for an inspirational gift idea, The Foraging Course Company (www.foragingcoursecompany.co.uk) has opened bookings for 2021, from half-day foraging walks to full-day sessions with cooking classes.

Local independent retailers are currently being celebrated in Warwickshire County Council's #Warksmas social-media campaign on Facebook @WarksTN and Twitter @WarksTN.
