Bikers of all ages and abilities have the chance to compete alongside some of the world’s top mountain bikers this summer, as TweedLove festival opens the entry system for the Enduro World Series 2014.
The new event, which is in its second year, will stop off in the Scottish Borders in 2014 for the first time, allowing pros and amateurs to compete alongside each other in a series of time trailed events.
Taking place over the weekend of May 31 and June 1, there are six hundred places available, making the TweedLove Enduro World Series the biggest race of its type to ever be staged in the UK.
TweedLove organiser, Neil Dalgleish, said: “We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the Tweed Valley this summer to showcase just how amazing the riding here is. We’ve tried to make sure there is something for everyone by dividing the racers into two categories.
“Enduro 1 is ideal for those who really want to push themselves against the world’s best. Enduro 2 is just a little more relaxed and allows racers to ride with their mates. Transitions will be less stressful for these riders but it’s still a stiff test over two big days of racing.”
The race will span two days and be divided into two categories – Enduro 1 and Enduro 2. Riders entering into the Enduro 1 category will face strict liaison times that are designed to test the world’s best racers. Those entering the Enduro 2 category will have a little more margin for transitions, but will still face a tough two day schedule of racing on some of the UK’s finest enduro trails.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Tweed Valley, the Enduro World Series Race is the flagship event of this year’s TweedLove festival – a two week celebration of cycling that is now the UK’s biggest biking festival, which takes place from May 25 to June 8 2014.
Entries for the race will open to the public on February 19 and can be booked through www.enduroworldseries.com
