TV Chef James Strawbridge To Front Guernsey Foodie Weekend

Visit Guernsey

TV chef, author and Guernsey tourism ambassador, James Strawbridge, will front a foodie weekend in Guernsey from 16-18 May. The weekend will involve cookery demonstrations from Strawbridge at the 'Seafront Sunday' festival in the capital St. Peter Port, tastings of Guernsey produce, cocktail master classes, wine tastings and guided tours with island producers. All the events and initiatives will focus on local produce and Guernsey's mouthwatering specialities. Two night foodie packages start from £160 per person.

Guernsey's Seafront Sundays run throughout the summer months and celebrate Guernsey's rich food heritage. On 18 May, the Seafront Sunday will be 'moules and mackerel' themed, drawing on Guernsey's plentiful seafood and visitors will be able to watch Strawbridge create a mouthwatering dish starring local mussels and mackerel and enhanced with Guernsey cider and samphire. The focus will be on local produce and sustainable gastronomy, which is a key focus in Strawbridge's books and TV appearances. This has included heading up ITV1's 'The Hungry Sailors', starring in ITV1's 'Saturday Farm' and appearing as an eco-guest on 'Richard and Judy' and 'Ready Steady Cook'. At the Seafront Sunday there will also be stalls from local producers, tastings of Guernsey dishes such as the Guernsey bean-jar and hands on tutorials including learning how to crab pick.
