Parks Victoria and Four Wheel Drive Victoria worked together to develop 6 of the best four-wheel drive touring routes that Victoria has to offer, ranging from single day trip to longer trips of several days or more.

Victoria's Iconic 4WD Adventures will lead you to some of the most diverse and unforgettable landscapes in Australia – from deserts and rugged mountains to lush forests and spectacular coasts.  These areas are just waiting to be discovered and you can refer to the series of individual touring guides to steer your journey of exploration.

Whether you're an experienced four-wheel driver or a novice, you'll be able to enjoy Victoria's natural landscapes and remarkable cultural heritage on these iconic tours.

Travel at your own pace through breathtaking scenery, explore the unique cultural heritage of Victoria allowing you to connect with both our Aboriginal and European history.  Or simply relax and take in the scenery, enjoy the tranquillity while you camp under the stars.

The touring guides feature an easy to understand Track Classification System that indicates the degree of difficulty of 4WD tracks and routes, as well as driving tips to make your trip safer and easier to plan.

The six Victoria's Iconic 4WD Adventures include

  • Grampians Drive- rugged mountainous peaks - 286 kms Medium rated (Dry conditions)
  • Otways Drive- stunning coastal scenery and forests - 242 kms Easy rated (Dry conditions)
  • Malle Drive- Victoria does have its own outback waiting to be discovered - 625kms Medium rated (Dry conditions)
  • Wonnangatta Drive- experience the beauty of the high country- 222km Difficult rated (Dry conditions)
  • Snowy River Drive- The legend of the Snowy River and Alpine country- 298km Difficult rated (Dry conditions)
  • Davies Plain Drive- Remote Alpine landscapes 160km Very Difficult rated (Dry conditions) *Currently closed due to track requiring repairs.
