2015: new year, new you? If you are seeking a luxury break where you can both beat your own personal fitness best and sample the latest in fine flavor in the company of good people, as well as perhaps improving yourself along the way, look no further than Fusion Retreats which readdresses the traditional concept of singles travel to give it (and you) a refreshing makeover for 2015.
The dictionary definition of fusion is “the process of combining two or more things together into one” and this is precisely what our director, Phoebe Oliver has done with new bespoke holiday agency, Fusion Retreats.
As Oliver explains, “I recently found myself divorced at 40 and wondering what to do with my new found freedom. Having always worked hard I can now afford to explore the world but found it nearly impossible to find a singles holiday that offered the three things I love – luxury, fitness and delicious food - so I started to create my own.”
She soon identified a gap in the market for travel aimed at the solo traveler who enjoys luxury holidays with other like-minded guests for company, keeping fit and sampling the finer things in life together.
Fusion guests are not necessarily looking for a “dating” holiday; a typical Fusion guest is busy, successful and career-minded individual who appreciates quality and wishes to share both leisure and dining aspects of their downtime as part of a fulfilling peer group.
Oliver has teamed her years of experience in representing luxury hotels all over the world with her skills in organising exciting itineraries to present the very best of each destination to her guests. With never more than 16 carefully selected participants in each group, she ensures holidays are tailor-made to meet their requirements.
Each of the Fusion venues (currently UK with abroad destinations being launched middle of 2015) have been handpicked in order to complement the ethos of the company. Fusion's UK estates are the right blend of comfortable and lavish, with banqueting halls, tennis courts and swimming pools – some even offer a lake for a morning dip. Oliver understands that the team behind the scenes is just as important: each Fusion representative has been chosen not only for their specialist subject knowledge but also their ability to pre-empt and satisfy guests' requirements.
Daily morning and afternoon workout sessions (with instructors who are masters in both cross fit and Insanity styles of fitness) are encouraged for all guests, but if a peaceful walk on the beach or game of croquet is more appealing, then a tailored route is suggested, or they can be furnished with a mallet and a straw hat.
Each Retreat is hosted by one Fusion leader - but guests have access to a number of consultation sessions including personal trainer, nutritionist, yoga instructor, massage therapist and top notch chef to ask advice or perhaps just challenge to a game of ping pong!
Fusion Retreats is about mixing together all the elements of a perfect break from the norm - and making some amazing new friends along the way.
Prices start from £400 per person per night. More information on the variety of Fusion Retreats can be found at www.fusionretreats.co.uk
