This year, the Mediterranean island of Malta will become the first European country to host TropOut's annual summer festival. Taking place in September, TropOut will offer a an unforgettable travel experience for the modern gay traveller in search of a holiday that combines cultural discovery, relaxation and a vibrant party scene with likeminded travellers. The experience aims to get to the heart of the beautiful destination whilst creating a party atmosphere in a relaxed and sophisticated setting.

Following the success of festivals in Thailand and the French-Pacific island of New Caledonia, TropOut is launching its first European festival in Malta, an archipelago in the middle of the Mediterranean sea, rated number one on ILGA Europe's Rainbow Index.

From 13th – 19th September 2018, TropOut will bring guests the glamour of Malta, home to fascinating history, lively and chic nightlife and Europe's Capital of Culture for 2018. The festival will host cultural day trips, rooftop yoga tutorials and a lively party scene each night in the island's hottest venues. The TropOut boat party is one of the festival's highlights; promising a day of laid back partying against the backdrop of Malta's famed turquoise waters.

Peter Vella, Malta Tourism Authority's UK Director is delighted the festival is coming to Malta “We are thrilled to be working with TropOut on the forthcoming summer festival, which will really showcase the island's credentials as a sophisticated, contemporary, and open-minded holiday destination. The Maltese take pride in welcoming all travellers to experience the beauty and culture of the island that complements TropOut's ethos of relaxation, partying and discovery.”

Aaron Zoanetti, Director of TropOut “We are so excited to be taking TropOut to Malta for our first European festival. The island ticks every box we look for in a host destination: stunning beaches, rich history and culture, glamourous party venues and great cuisine. But what most impressed us with Malta was the open-mindedness of the Maltese people. Our guests will be warmly welcomed and free to be themselves in Malta- we can't wait to for them to experience everything the island has to offer.”

In 2017 Malta ranked first on the ILGA Europe's Rainbow Index for the second year running– a ranking that is based on how the laws and policies of each country impact on the lives of the LGBTQI community. The island holds a unique combination of traditional and historical culture with a contemporary and welcoming mindset towards gay travellers.

TropOut Malta starts from £720 per person and includes accommodation, festival pass and festival transfers. www.visitmalta.com / www.tropout.com
