TRIPADVISOR RENTALS OFFERS TRAVELLERS A CHANCE AT FIRST SLEEPOVER IN THE WORLD-FAMOUS COCA-COLA LONDON EYE

London, UK, 7th March 2017:  Launching today, TripAdvisor Rentals' “Eye Spy A Home In The Sky” competition offers one winner and their guest the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be the first people ever to spend a night in iconic London landmark, the Coca-Cola London Eye.

TripAdvisor Rentals and Wayfair have teamed together to transform the attraction into a dreamy home in the sky. Wayfair will furnish and decorate a single capsule overnight to create a secret rooftop garden with 360 degree views of one of the world's most iconic cities. This enchanting glass house atop London is bringing a whole new meaning to sleeping under the stars, and giving you your own rainforest-inspired luxury penthouse for one night only – your very own #SkyHighStay.

Although the famous landmark took its first rotation in 2000 – nearly two decades ago – and has received over 60 million visitors, no one has yet spent the night inside. This money-can't-buy prize gives the winner the chance to make history – in the comfort of a luxurious pop up holiday rental.

In addition to the night in the Coca-Cola London Eye, the prize also includes a three-night stay in a TripAdvisor rental nearby, so you can explore all the landmarks you've seen from above. This modern 3-bed home in the heart of London boasts floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass ceiling. But it's the curated decor—geometric area rugs, marble accents, a wall-mounted bike—that really sets the tone. Contemporary furnishings and vibrant artwork create a bright, airy living space, perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.

TripAdvisor Rentals spokesperson Laurel Greatrix said, “Holiday rentals are a great way to see your destination in a whole new way. To have a rental in such an iconic landmark is an extension of what TripAdvisor Rentals can offer travellers every day, whether it's a glamorous beach house, a downtown flat, a tiny home or a treehouse in the jungle. We list more than 830,000 homes across the globe, so there's plenty of choice!”

While the capsule will be decorated on the 30th, Wayfair has prepared a high-resolution mock-up, available for download here.  High res images of the Coca-Cola London Eye, and the rental for the three-night stay are available for download here.

“At Wayfair, we offer millions of home products across all styles and budgets to make it possible for anyone to bring their unique vision of home to life. We are delighted to partner with TripAdvisor Rentals to create a first-of-its-kind space in the sky,” said Nadia McCowan Hill, Style Expert, Wayfair UK. “Our design team at Wayfair forecasted that tropical greenery would be a big trend for home décor in 2017, so it made perfect sense to bring this lush look to life, transforming one of the Coca-Cola London Eye capsules into an exotic getaway. For the lucky winners, it will truly be a slice of serene paradise high above the bustling metropolis of London.”

Enter here for the chance of a lifetime.  The winner will be selected on March 20.

About The London Eye

The London Eye is conceived and designed by Marks Barfield Architects.  The London Eye is centrally located in the heart of the capital, gracefully rotating over the river Thames opposite Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.  At 135m, the London Eye is the world's tallest cantilevered observation wheel; a feat of design and engineering it has become the modern symbol representing the capital and a global icon.  The experience showcases breath-taking 360 degree views of the capital and its famous landmarks and has been the number one visitor experience in the city for the past decade.

The constant and graceful movement of the London Eye gives visitors an ever-changing perspective of the best city in the world enhanced by interactive Samsung Galaxy Tab guides to assist guests with information on landmarks in several languages.  An experience on the London Eye will lift you high enough to see up to 40km and keep you close enough to see the spectacular details of the city unfolding below you.

Included in all London Eye experiences is the spectacular 4D cinema show, featuring the first ever-3D aerial footage of London and the famous London NYE fireworks.
