Treat your mum to a right royal day out at Blenheim Palace to celebrate Mothers' Day on Sunday 19th March and be the first to see Royal Connections Crowns and Coronets, a new exhibition for 2023.

With its stunning 18th century Baroque Palace, Formal Gardens and 2,000 acres of 'Capability' Brown landscaped parkland it's the perfect destination that's truly fit for a queen.

Plus, this year the Oxfordshire UNESCO World Heritage Site is showcasing its close connections to the monarchy with an exhibition of previously unseen artefacts, photo albums, thrones, robes, crowns and coronets. 

'Royal Connections Crowns and Coronets' includes personal effects from royal weddings, coronations, and holidays. The Marlboroughs' relationship with the monarchy dates back to the creation of Blenheim Palace, when Queen Anne provided the funds for its construction as a reward from a 'grateful nation' for John Churchill, the First Duke of Marlborough's, stunning victory at the Battle of Blenheim.

Blenheim really is fit for a queen having had a starring role as a royal residence in a series of blockbuster movies standing in for Buckingham Palace in both Dolittle and The BFG as well as a setting for The Young Victoria starring Emily Blunt and both Kenneth Branagh's 2015 Cinderella and Kay Cannon's 2021 version. 

There's also the opportunity to treat mum with a range of delicious cafés to choose from, whether you're after some warming comfort food or a cream tea. Much of the produce is locally sourced including fresh fruit and vegetables from Blenheim Palace's own kitchen garden.

Finish off the day with a look around the East Courtyard Shop which has a special Mother's Day range perfect for a treat to end the day out. Alongside champagne and prosecco there's Cotswold whisky featuring Blenheim barley and Sky Wave Raspberry and Rhubarb gin which uses the Palace's natural mineral water.

As well as food and drink gifts there's also a range of pampering products including soaps, soothing sleep and slumber sets and exquisite jewellery.
