TravMedia's Inaugural Australian International Media Marketplace [IMM] Successfully Brings Travel Companies and Media Together in Brisbane

Over 70 international media descended on Brisbane, on Friday May 3rd, for Australias first International Media Marketplace [IMM], an engaging new exhibition-style event bringing travel companies together with media in a more focussed way.


46 exhibitors, represented by 62 delegates, held over 700 pre-scheduled appointments with over 70 domestic and international media, during the day’s event.


Journalists representing international publications, newspapers, glossy magazines, broadcast media and trade publications were among those who met with a broad cross-section of international & domestic tourism boards, global hotel groups, luxury boutique independent hotels, specialist tour and cruise product [See full list of exhibitors below]. IMM attracted delegates across Australia
s travel and PR industries, and brought in international delegates and exhibitors from as far afield as Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali and the US.

 

The event would not have been possible without event sponsor and destination partners, Tourism and Events Queensland and Brisbane Marketing, event sponsor Hilton Worldwide, venue partner, Hilton Brisbane and the DoubleTree by Hilton Brand,  co-sponsor of the Australian Society of Travel Writers May luncheon and airline partner Qantas. 

 

Spicers Retreats provided a sumptuous delegate and media lounge created for the event.

 

Speaking at IMM, attendees were given an insight into global travel trends by Keith Bellows, esteemed Editor-in-Chief & Vice President of National Geographic Traveler.

A delegation of media attending IMM also enjoyed a post famil of Brisbane and its surrounds, coordinated by Tourism and Events Queensland and Brisbane Marketing.

 

A dedicated press room for IMM exhibitors has been created [www.travmedia.com/imm-aus ] enabling visiting journalists to download media materials from the brands they met at IMM and upload links to their stories, profiles and bios.

 

TravMedia also announced at the luncheon the next International Media Marketplace event will be held in Los Angeles, with events also planned in Asia and India.
