More than 120 international tourism organizations and travel media came together for 22, one-on-one appointments, at IMM Asia 2019, a day-long networking event held for the first time in Macao at The Parisian Macao, in partnership with The Sands Resorts Macao and the Macao Government Tourism Office.

“We are thrilled to see so many top editors and exhibitors return for our fourth annual International Media Marketplace event held for the first time in magnificent Macao,” said Nick Wayland, CEO and Founder of TravMedia.

“With this year's partnership with the Macao Government Tourism Office and The Sands Resorts Macao, we are witnessing the growth and expansion of IMM into new and exciting regions of Asia. IMM continues to expand year on year due to the quality of media in attendance who are eager to engage with leading travel brands, to plan a year's worth of features and familiarization opportunities, in one day.”

Media from more than 50 titles – including national and metropolitan newspapers, glossy magazines, trade publications, and digital platforms – connected via TravMedia with representatives from hotel groups, tour operators and international and regional tourism bodies representing destinations across the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe.

“IMM Asia's popularity this year attracted a strong media presence attending from key source markets including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Philippines, United Kingdom and Australia; with a notable increase of Editors in attendance,” said Nicolette Mewing, Regional Director of TravMedia Asia.

“IMM's success is based on our innovative TravMedia technology that enables PR members and media to pre-schedule appointments for a day of robust and engaging meetings that is specifically personalized to suit their target markets and interests.”

With the partnership of the Macao Government Tourism Office as the Host City Partner, this year's IMM Asia was held for the first time in Macao to bring to life the vibrant culture and offering of the beautiful city.

“It's truly an honour for Macao to be hosting for the first time the annual TravMedia International Media Marketplace and Summit which is in its fourth edition. Macao's attractions and activities are many – and the number is growing as more developments take shape,” said Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director Macao Government Tourism Office.

In partnership with The Sands Resorts Macao as the Headline Sponsor of IMM Asia 2019, this year's event brought IMM to life with a vibrant welcome party hosted Poolside at The Parisian Macao, a sit-down networking lunch hosted by Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel, Cotai Central, and a cocktail reception hosted poolside at the Four Seasons Hotel Macao.

“Hosting TravMedia's International Media Marketplace and Summit has been a great opportunity to showcase not only Macao as a destination with its unique blend of Portuguese and Chinese heritage, but also Sands Resorts seven hotels including The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Four Seasons Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao, Conrad Macao, St. Regis Macao and the new The Londoner Macao coming in 2020 to this group of key travel industry leaders and media, ” said Donna Campbell, Executive Director Public Relations, Sands Resorts Macao.
