02 Dec 2013
The pace of registrations from journalists and travel and tourism brands for the second International Media Marketplace (IMM) on 3 March 2014 has led organisers TravMedia to predict all its first-year results will be smashed.
TravMedia, the leading news community for the travel sector, today revealed that over 200 journalists have now pre-registered for the event. By comparison, IMM 2013 attracted 176 journalists on the day.
Over 80 brands have already registered to attend next year's exhibition, which once again takes place at the sumptuous Dorchester in London's Mayfair.
This already puts the event on a par with the inaugural IMM, with over three months left for exhibitors to register.
TravMedia are predicting a total exhibitor turnout of "well beyond 100 standholders" come March. The company also announced its early booking incentive, due to end on 30 November, will be extended for a further three days until Wednesday, 4 December.
IMM is a day-long exhibition-style event (www.travmedia.com.imm) showcasing tourism destinations and travel brands to the nation's leading journalists. Exhibitors and journalists will be able to pre-schedule meeting appointments online or media can simply visit the exhibitor tables they wish.
Exhibitors for 2014 include Austrian National Tourist Office, Brand USA, Cox & Kings, Greater Miami CVB, Holiday Cottages, Holland America Line, Italian National Tourist Board, STA Travel, Thermae Bath Spa, Travel Alberta, TUI Ski, VIA Rail, Virgin Limited Edition, Visit California, Visit Cornwall and YHA Australia (full list appears below).
Media titles registering delegates include BA Highlife, BBC, Bella, Buying Business Travel, Conde Nast Traveller, Daily Express/ Sunday Express, Daily Star, Daily Telegraph, ELLE, Lonely Planet Traveller, Mail on Sunday, National Geographic Traveller, new!, Rough Guides, Scottish Sun, Selling Long Haul, Sunday Express, Sunday Times Travel Magazine, Tatler, The Guardian, The Independent, The People, The Sun, The Sunday Times, The Times, Travel Bulletin, Travel Weekly, TTG, Ultratravel, Wall Street Journal, Wanderlust, Weight Watchers and Woman's Own.

Said Henry Hemming, TravMedia UK's Managing Director: "Our first-ever IMM demonstrated the media's appetite for an annual event where journalists could meet industry brands to plan stories, arrange trips and develop contacts. IMM 2014 looks set to take our concept to an entirely new level. We're thrilled and grateful for everyone's support."
Added Howard Salinger, TravMedia UK's Regional Director: "We can't wait to be back at the Dorchester. Everything is perfectly poised for a tremendous second IMM on 3 March."
