TravMedia, the travel industry's only global media network, launched its new travel industry webinar series in Australia to be followed by sessions in the US, Europe, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, and China. The first webinar covered tips on travel PR during the Coronavirus.
The panel moderated by TravMedia's Founder and CEO, Nick Wayland and Jill Collins, Managing Director of Barking Owl Communications, hosted a group of influential industry leaders, including two of Australia's top travel editors Craig Platt, Managing Editor of traveller.com.au and Bruce Piper, Editor of Travel Daily, Cruise Weekly and travelBulletin.
The editors were joined by Emma Sturgiss, Global PR Manager at Tourism Australia, and Brent Wallace the creator of Australia's number one luxury travel and lifestyle blog Where's Brent Been? Over a hundred travel PR Managers attended the premier session. The panel explored how travel brands can stay top-of-mind right now during isolation, positive ways to promote your product during the crisis, and insights into the future of our industry.
Today's webinar was a first for the series that aims to keep the global tourism industry informed and hopeful for our future during these unprecedented times.
"With travel restrictions now in place around the globe, we're in a niche position to create a virtual meeting place for PRs, journalists and editors to talk about surviving the Coronavirus. After SARS and bird flu, we saw a massive resurgence in travel once these two epidemics were brought under control, and we must be ready for the wave of travel popularity to return," says CEO and Founder of TravMedia, Nick Wayland.
Along with a series of one-on-one interviews with the world's most influential publications, the next in the series of webinars will cover National and International tourism boards where we will discuss how each destination plans to recover from the COVID-19.
