TravMedia Launches IMM 2016

TravMedia (UK)

TravMedia has announced its next IMM, the travel industry's showpiece media event, will take place on 14 March 2016.

QEII Centre, London, the largest dedicated conference and exhibition space in central London, will once again host the big day . Bookings and media pre-registration have already commenced, with dozens of top names already confirmed for IMM 2016. An offical video for the event was also released today on www.travmedia.com/immuk

IMM is now established as the leading media networking platform for global travel and tourism brands. Over 200 journalists attended the most recent IMM, held on 2 March 2015, meeting with over 110 PR professionals. Delegates pre-scheduled over 2850 meeting appointments using TravMedia's IMM Appointment Manager.

Following the March event, TravMedia has completed a comprehensive review of media and exhibitor exit surveys and canvassed wider industry opinion in deciding to make an important change for the future.

Henry Hemming, TravMedia UK's Managing Director explains: “The consensus from all the feedback was that a majority of attendees want a single, fanfare event each year.

“We have therefore made the decision that our next IMM will be the one we are announcing today, and that it will be our sole IMM in 2016.”

TravMedia will therefore not proceed with an Autumn IMM in 2015, provisionally scheduled for 30 October. The majority of early-bird exhibitor and media bookings for that event have already been successfully migrated to IMM 2016.

Exhibitors attending IMM each enjoy a dedicated table where they can brief leading travel journalists, editors and broadcasters on everything from news hooks to features angles. Journalists can pre-schedule meetings appointments or simply visit the exhibitor tables they wish.

Media titles attending March's IMM included The Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Sun, Daily Mail, Daily and Sunday Express, ITV's 'Lorraine', Wanderlust, Food and Travel, Bella, Lonely Planet, Travel Weekly and C&IT. Exhibitors included Canadian Tourism Commission, Visit Scotland, Italian National Tourist Board, Visit Kent, Visit California,  Expedia, trivago, Virgin Limited Edition, and Carnival Cruise Lines.

The event was making its first appearance at Westminster's QEII, central London's largest exhibition space, following three previous sell-out IMMs in 2013 and 2014 at prestigious London hotels.

Added Hemming: “IMM has matured as an event, and we're grateful for the industry-wide support it has generated. We look forward to welcoming another bumper audience to the QEII on 14 March next year.”
