Travlaw's 'Tug Of Law' Charity Challenge For Just A Drop

Just a Drop

Travlaw LLP, one of the UK's leading law firms acting for the travel industry, has announced an exciting new partnership with Just a Drop which will see the company carrying out an array of unique and exciting charity challenges in order to raise £5,000 this year.

The Travlaw challenge timetable begins on 6th May with the much anticipated 'Travlaw Tug of Law!' where the title of 'Travlaw Super Team' will be decided. The hotly anticipated event will take place at Travlaw's base in Leeds, where two teams will assemble in the Travlaw HQ gardens. The gauntlet is a slippery, waterlogged patch of Yorkshire grass, a large tugging rope and - in the centre- a water filled paddling pool into which the losers will be dragged. The teams have been training hard over the past couple of weeks, and it is difficult to call who'll be victorious!

Helen Ludlam, Adjudicator told us “They're really taking it seriously; regular trips to the gym, protein shakes, strategy meetings….”

However, the 'Tug of Law' isn't the only fun fundraiser Travlaw has planned...

I'm a Lawyer, Get Me out of Here!

From 1st June, TravLaw will be launching the first ever online series of “I'm a Lawyer Get Me out of Here”. Team Members will be elected to carry out a range of madcap challenges via sponsorship on TravLaw's JustGiving page. The individual with the most sponsorship each month will be voted in to complete a hilarious task, so stay tuned!

Rivka Hawley, Partner at Travlaw LLP, said “We are thrilled to be in partnership with Just a Drop, bringing the team together to find innovative and entertaining ways to actively support the charity.”

Travlaw staff will be raising money throughout the year by participating in an assortment of different challenges and ongoing activities and further info on these can be found at: www.travlaw-challenge.co.uk. To support the 'Tug of Law' team, please click here.

About Just a Drop – www.justadrop.org

• Launched in 1998, Just a Drop is an international water-aid charity with a very simple plan: to give people clean, safe water and to reduce the number of children dying as a result of water-related diseases.
• Working with local partners, at a grassroots level, we provide clean water and sanitation facilities to some of the poorest communities around the world through the construction of hand-dug and borehole wells, pipelines, hand pumps and latrines and we establish health and sanitation programmes.
• We operate with a handful (5) of staff and an army of volunteers, many of whom are retired military officers and water engineers with extensive experience on global water development projects.
• To date, we have carried out over 130 projects across 31 countries, reaching an estimated 1.5 million people from Afghanistan to Zambia. Fast Water Facts:
• A child dies around every 20 seconds as a result of a water related illness.
• Over 768 million people in the world do not have access to clean, safe water.
• More people in the world own mobile phones than have access to a toilet.
