Travellers' Tales Establishes Itself as Marylebone's New Home for Cultural Events, Literary Salons and Travel Inspiration

Since opening its doors in January 2026 in the heart of Marylebone, Travellers' Tales has quickly become one of London's most distinctive spaces for cultural gatherings, literary salons, private events and immersive travel inspiration. Combining a curated travel bookshop with bespoke expedition travel planning, the concept continues to evolve through a growing programme of creative collaborations and cultural experiences.

Housed within the Grade II listed 87 Wimpole Street, on the corner of Wigmore Street, Travellers' Tales occupies a building dating back to 1891. Designed by architect F.L. Pearson, the architecturally significant property remains one of Marylebone's most characterful historic buildings, positioned moments from Oxford Street and Marylebone High Street, among Marylebone's independent galleries, cafes and cultural institutions. Combining heritage architecture with a distinctly residential atmosphere, Travellers' Tales has been designed to encourage conversation and discovery, with curated shelving, antique furnishings and interiors that transition from relaxed daytime browsing to intimate evening events and private gatherings.

Founded by luxury travel expert Jayne Alexander, Travellers' Tales was designed as a space where storytelling and exploration come together. The intimate venue offers a carefully curated collection of large-format photography books, rare editions, expert travel guides and evocative novels, alongside thoughtful gifting and collectible travel-inspired pieces.

“Travellers' Tales was always intended to be a place where people gather and exchange ideas,” says Jayne Alexander. “We wanted to create somewhere that feels inspiring yet welcoming. A space where travel, literature, culture and conversation naturally intersect.”

Travellers' Tales is now welcoming enquiries for private events, partnerships and luxury brand activations, alongside a growing programme of cultural experiences and bespoke travel consultations.  The concept also offers opportunities for off-site pop-ups, curated takeovers and collaborative experiences with retailers, hotels and other venues.
