Travel Manitoba will be exhibiting at the International Media Marketplace on Monday 25th March 2019, showcasing remarkable seasonal events.
Located in the heart of Canada, the province of Manitoba sits as the world's wildlife and adventure capital. Bursting with an astonishing variety of species and natural wonder, from polar bears, beluga whales and world-class excursions to visit the northern lights, Manitoba reigns as the ultimate destination to complete an adventure bucket list.
Below discover the best of Manitoba and journey through the seasons:
NORTHERN LIGHTS
Whilst peak viewing times are from January through to March, the magical Northern Lights can in fact be viewed from Churchill an impressive 300 days a year, attracting travellers from around the world.
WINTER POP UP RESTAURANTS
Famed as one of the most unique pop up restaurants in the world RAW: almond is the joint venture and creative brainchild of Chef Mandel Hitzer and architect Joe Kalturnyk. Now six years in the making, the creative stint has grown from strength to strength and has been defined as one of Manitoba's boldest outdoor events. Pairing gastronomy with adventure, RAW's pop-up restaurant enables diners to feast on ice, where the frozen waters of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers meet in the heart of Winnipeg.
BELUGA WHALES
Annually, thousands of beluga whales congregate in Hudson Bay as the ice begins to melt, allowing them to feed, socialise and breed. In total, up to 60,000 beluga whales move into the aquamarine waters of Hudson Bay and visitors can now marvel at these creatures through specialist tours.
POLAR BEAR SEASON
Famed as one of the few human settlements where polar bears can be observed in the wild, visitors from around the world flock to Manitoba's most northern town to witness this incredible spectacle, an annual event which takes place in October and November. Churchill, also known as the Polar Bear Capital of the World, receives around 80% of its tourism during the autumn months.
