Travel Indochina Shortlisted For Top Industry Award

Insider Journeys

Specialist tour operator, Travel Indochina, is delighted to have been shortlisted for the Escorted & Specialist Touring Operator of the Year category in this year's TTG Travel Awards 2014.

The awards, which are run by one of the UK's leading travel trade publications, Travel Trade Gazette, are designed to reward the very best in travel. All shortlisted entries, including Travel Indochina, have demonstrated that their service over previous months has been truly outstanding.

A leading expert, Travel Indochina has been running for 21 years and is a world leader in operating escorted Small Group Journeys and bespoke itineraries to the “real” Asia. The company currently boasts the largest range of group tours to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos than any other UK operator, as well as a large diversity of tours to Burma, Thailand, India, China and Tibet, and Japan. Unlike other operators, Travel Indochina limits its group sizes to a maximum of just 16 people and offers the combined advantage of a Western tour leader and local English-speaking guides.

Lesley Wright, Head of Commercial at Travel Indochina UK, commented: “The TTG Travel Awards are regarded as a universal benchmark of quality within the travel industry. We are delighted that Travel Indochina has been shortlisted in the Escorted & Specialist Touring Operator of the Year category, and that our commitment to serving the travel trade has been recognised by these prestigious awards.”

Pippa Jacks, editor of TTG, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the strength of this year's entries. Our unique combination of voting by travel agents and judging by industry experts makes a TTG Award the real hallmark of excellence within travel. We congratulate all those who have made it onto our hotly-contested shortlist.”

With hundreds of entries, more than 36,000 agent ratings and a rigorous judging process, the TTG Travel Awards are recognised as one of the industry's most coveted accolades. Judging will be weighted 50:50 between travel agent votes and a judging panel of senior industry experts. The award winners are due to be announced at a prestigious London ceremony on 15th September 2014.

Editor's notes:

Travel Indochina has been operating Small Group Journeys and tailor-made travel to the “real” Asia for 21 years. Today, the company features the widest range of itineraries and departures to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos than any other tour operator in the UK, as well as a large variety of journeys to Thailand, Burma, China and Tibet, India, Japan, Bhutan, Mongolia and Sri Lanka. Unlike many other travel companies, Travel Indochina limits its group size to a maximum of 16 people. These smaller groups enable travellers to gain the best from both worlds – greater access to the local culture and plenty of opportunities for independent exploration.
