Cochem, Germany, June 2015 – A bright sunny day in Cochem, Germany greeted the many Scenic guests and VIPs as Canadian Travel Expert, author and TV personality Claire Newell, christened the Scenic Opal, Scenic's newest Space-Ship. "Beautiful weather and the scenic location of Cochem ‎made for a picture perfect day to christen the stunning Scenic Opal,” stated Ms. Newell. “It was an honour and a privilege to be asked to godmother such a beautiful vessel. Breaking the champagne against the hull of the ship was an experience I'll never forget."

      Ms. Newell was joined by Scenic's Founder and Chairman, Glen Moroney, and his wife, Karen Moroney, who was the Space-Ship's principal interior designer. Also in attendance was Cochem Mayor Wolfgang Lambertz, several other dignitaries, and a few hundred welcome guests.
