Gray Line of Alaska

It was a very good year for Gray Line of Alaska tours in Alaska during the 2004 season, reports Mark Mumm, director of sales and marketing. We showed more people around Alaska this year then we have since 1998, Mumm said. FITs accounted for 60 percent of our total revenue, and Im pleased to say that more than 80 percent of all our passengers came through travel agents.

Overall, Gray Lines total revenue from travel agents was up 15 percent over last. Agents tell us its easy to book their FIT clients with us because they can customize any tour for them with one call, Mumm said. Sales from wholesalers where also up 28 percent over 2003. Gray Line of Alaska has just released its 2005 brochure. Tour prices for 2005 will range from $409 per person, double occupancy, to $2,779, depending on itinerary length and departure date. A division of Holland America Line, Inc., Gray Line of Alaska is marking its 57th year as the premier tour operator in Alaska.
