COUNTDOWN TO BRUCE MUNRO: TROPICAL LIGHT
Darwin, 1 November 2019 – 30 April 2020
With less than 60 days until Darwin's CBD and Waterfront precincts are transformed into a sea of illuminated art by the Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition, a new announcement has named six local Top End artists whose works will also feature in the exhibition. The local artworks will be displayed across the city alongside Munro's eight illuminated sculptures, forming part of the 2.5km exhibition trail, aimed at attracting visitors to the Top End during the Tropical Summer season. Bruce Munro: Tropical Light will be Munro's first ever city-wide exhibition.

ULURU CLIMB CLOSURE
Uluru, 26 October 2019
The Uluru climb will officially close on Saturday 26 October - 34 years to the day that Uluru and Kata Tjuta were handed back to the Anangu people.
Anangu, the traditional owners of Uluru, will continue to welcome travellers to the region to share their culture, to experience the flora and fauna that call Uluru home and to see one of the world's largest monoliths. And with more than 101 activities in Uluru, there's no shortage of ways to experience it – whether it's a stunning sunrise stroll around the base of the Rock, an eye-opening scenic flight, or a luxurious dining experience under the stars.

RECORD INTERSTATE REGISTRATIONS FOR MILLION DOLLAR FISH
Darwin and surrounds, 1 October 2019 - 31 March 2020
Australia's richest fishing competition will open for a fifth consecutive season next month, featuring a whopping six $1million red-tagged fish released for capture. Anglers from all over the country are expected to descend on the Top End for the Million Dollar Fish competition, which has seen a record number of interstate registrations to date.
Season five of Million Dollar Fish opens on 1 October 2019.

CAMILLA LAUNCHES TOP END COLLECTION
Renowned Australian fashion designer Camilla Franks has teamed-up with born and bred Territory photographer, Paul Arnold, to create a limited edition collection in celebration of the brand's 15th anniversary. Part of Camilla's 'Mother' collection, inspired by the designer's recent tour of Australia, the pieces feature Arnold's famous aerial photography, exuding the rich culture and life of the Top End.

NITMILUK FESTIVAL ARRIVES FOR 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Katherine, 6-15 September 2019
Celebrating 30 years since Nitmiluk National Park was handed back to Jawoyn traditional owners, the brand-new Nitmiluk Festival, to be held 6-15 September, will include a family fun day at Leliyn/Edith Falls, a concert at the picturesque Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge, and gourmet food and wine events at Cicada Lodge, heralding the milestone anniversary.

SHANTE, YOU STAY! FABALICE RETURNS FOR SECOND YEAR

Inspired by the original cult movie The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, FABalice Festival returns for a second year in March. The three-day event, officially extending Mardi Gras celebrations to the centre of Australia, is filled with comedy, cabaret and social activities paying homage to the film and stage musical.

BIG BASH LEAGUE CRICKET RETURNS TO ALICE SPRINGS
Alice Springs, 20 December 2019
Cricket fans across Australia and the Territory are celebrating the return of the Big Bash League to Alice Springs. The blockbuster sporting event will see hundreds of spectators travel to the Red Centre to watch the Hobart Hurricanes take on the Sydney Sixers at TIO Traeger Park in December. The clash will also be broadcast live on free-to-air television, showcasing the Red Centre to a national and international audience.

ALL ROADS LEAD TO LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK

Travellers heading to Litchfield National Park will soon be able visit all year-round, with major upgrade works underway, including the construction of Litchfield Park Road and a new bridge over the Lower Finniss River. Expected to be completed by late 2020, the scenic tourist loop will complement new swimming spots, 4WD tracks, mountain bike and walking/hiking trails, and new campgrounds currently under construction in the park, ensuring travellers have uninterrupted access to the park season-wide.

A new virtual reality (VR) experience is giving tourists a taste of what life is like for doctors and nurses of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Available in the Darwin and Alice Springs RFDS facilities, 'Flying with the Doctor' uses VR to transport travellers on an immersive experience from inside the cockpit or the main cabin of an RFDS aircraft.
