The light-hearted Get out of the State You’re In features Australian comedians comparing the NT to their homes in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
Minister for Tourism and Culture Lauren Moss said that the humorous online videos will target 18-35 year olds in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
“The youth demographic is one that we must continue to pursue. This campaign is funny, shareable content that encourages people to change their ‘state of mind’ and do something out of the ordinary by visiting the NT,” Ms Moss said.
“We know we need to try new approaches to capture the attention of the younger demographic. This new social media campaign will help us stand out from the crowd and get young people thinking about a holiday in the Territory.”
The videos star well-known interstate comedians and radio hosts including Victorian Harley Breen from the 2Day FM breakfast show ‘Em Rusciano with Harley Breen’, Tanya Hennessy, also 2Day FM announcer from New South Wales and comedian, Alex Williamson, from South Australia.
“These comedians have significant social media followings and reach millions of Australians every week through their radio shows and social platforms. This is great exposure for the Territory,” said Ms Moss.
“The videos are light-hearted and a bit of fun. They’re designed to be shared across social media and we hope they create a buzz about the Northern Territory.”
The online videos will be promoted on the comedians’ and Tourism NT’s social media channels along with placements on popular youth news and entertainment sites including pedestrian.tv, Buzzfeed Australia, Mashable, and the Daily Mail.
