Tourism New Zealand has announced a new leadership appointment with the key position of General Manager Australia now filled.
Tony Saunders, Tourism New Zealand's existing Regional Marketing Communications Manager Australia has been appointed to the role of General Manager Australia.
Tourism New Zealand's Director of Trade, PR and Major Events Justin Watson said the organisation is committed to promoting its best people, especially into key leadership roles.
"Tony brings more than 14 years' experience as a marketer to the role and joined Tourism New Zealand in January 2011.
"He will be a familiar figure to many in the industry having led the marketing communications development for a number of highly successful partner campaigns in what is our largest source market.
"Tony's knowledge of and experience in Australia, existing relationships with trade partners on both sides of the Tasman and proven success makes him the perfect person for this role."
Prior to working in Tourism, Tony held Senior Marketing roles managing global brands for Campbell-Arnotts and Yum Restaurants in Australia.
Tony is delighted to take up the role and work strategically with partners to gain further momentum in Australia.
"I look forward to continuing the great work that Tourism New Zealand has produced in Australia by further integrating Trade, Marketing and PR activity and strengthening our valuable relationships with Australian trade partners and Regional Tourism Operators in New Zealand.

Tony Saunders, along with the newly appointed General Manager Asia David Craig and General Manager Western Markets Gregg Anderson will lead Tourism New Zealand's international-based staff across 12 offices.
